The mission of our Home Birth Scholarship Program is to allow families to choose the birth experience that aligns with their values, regardless of financial barriers. We are passionate about supporting natural, safe, and personalized birth experiences that honor autonomy and well-being.

As a care provider and a home birther myself, I have witnessed and experienced firsthand the transformative power of home birth. Everyone deserves to birth where they feel safest and most supported, and welcome their new baby in a familiar, comfortable environment surrounded by love. This program was born out of my deep commitment to ensuring that more families can experience this type of birth, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Midwifery care is a cornerstone of safe, respectful, and individualized birth experiences. It is not just a service- it is a partnership that honors the natural process of childbirth and the autonomy of the birthing person. Unfortunately, financial constraints often limit access to this crucial form of care, leading many families to miss out on the benefits that midwifery offers.

Accessibility is a Right, Not a Privilege: We believe that every family, regardless of financial status, should have the option to choose midwifery care. Birth is a profound life event, and everyone deserves the chance to experience it in a way that feels safe, supported, and aligned with their values. By offering this scholarship, we are working to dismantle the financial barriers that prevent access to midwifery care, ensuring that more families can benefit from this compassionate and effective model of care.

What the Scholarship Covers

Our scholarship program will cover 60% of the fees. The regular cost for our comprehensive home birth package is $5,350. With the scholarship, your financial responsibility will be significantly reduced to $2,140.

This investment covers all aspects of your care, ensuring you receive the highest quality support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period.

Client Responsibility

While the scholarship makes home birth more accessible, clients are responsible for:​

• $1,000 deposit immediately upon acceptance with the remaining $1,140 balance due by the beginning of the 3rd trimester.

• All birth supplies outside of midwife equipment

• Any additional services or products not included in the standard package, such as specialized tests or equipment beyond what is typically required.

• Communicating openly about any concerns or special needs, so we can ensure the best possible care.

• Attending all scheduled appointments, including prenatal, birth, and postpartum visits.

What’s Included in the Home Birth Package

Our comprehensive home birth package includes:

• Prenatal Care: Personalized prenatal visits, including all necessary exams, lab work, and ultrasounds. We’ll meet regularly to monitor your health and your baby’s development, address any concerns, and prepare you for birth.

• Labor and Delivery: Full support during labor and delivery in the comfort of your home. This includes continuous monitoring of your and your baby’s well-being, pain management techniques, and the presence of a skilled birth attendant and assistant.

• Postpartum Care: Postpartum visits to ensure both you and your baby are thriving. This includes newborn care, breastfeeding support, and monitoring your recovery.

• Emergency Preparedness: While home births are generally safe, we are fully equipped and prepared for any unexpected situations. We provide a clear plan for emergency transfers if needed, ensuring seamless care continuity.

• 24/7 On-Call Support: Access to your birth team anytime, day or night, for any urgent concerns or questions during your pregnancy.

Please Note: We will select up to three recipients per year depending on our calendar availability.

At this time, this program is only open to families living in Box Elder, Weber, or Davis counties who have had at least one prior vaginal birth. We hope to be able to expand this in the future.
